2005 Info Sheet

The Stermer Vineyard, site of the winery, sits at the southern end of a range of hills in the Yamhill Valley, surrounded by neighboring vineyards including Soter, Belle Pente, Wahle, and numerous others. Eric purchased the site, farmed for several crops including plums, pears, and grains since the early 1950s, in 1996. It slopes from northeast to southwest and is composed of Willakenzie (sedimentary) soils.

The Stermer Vineyard Pinot noir combines enticing aromas with a mélange of pure fruit flavors that include red and black raspberry, black cherry, and blackberry. We find this one of the most balanced and seductive wines we’ve made from the vineyard. On the nose, the Stermer hints at black cherry, roses, vanilla, and anise notes. These aromas are mirrored by layered flavors of black and red fruit, framed with very ripe, sweet tannins. This medium-bodied wine has a ultra-soft and velvety finish.
